015. Mysore Malligae

Mysore Malligae a variety of jasmine not only has unmatched fragrance, but also an inextricable link with the royal city of Mysore. The botanical name is Jasminum Grandiflorum and belongs to Oleaceae family. Fragrance of Mysore Malligae variety is powerful and it lasts longer too. 

It grows in profusion in the open areas either in exclusive farmland, in front or at the backyard of houses. The sandy loam soil with comparatively high pH prevailing in the region makes a congenial ground for growing this crop. The dry and warm weather with low humidity is also make it favourable for the crop.

Mysore Mallige plant can grow upto 9 feet in height. Leaves of this plant are green, glossy and ovate. Flowers are white and are fragrant.
